Throughout the month of December, Tim Gilbert will be opening his Boogie Brunch at 11:30 a.m. KLOU 103.3 by featuring a different St. Louis Area Foodbank member agency each day.  Below is a listing of the agencies featured and how to get in contact with them.

12/10/03 Family Food Pantry:  Located in the heart of the newly formed Bosnian community in St. Louis, this agency is doing much more than assisting those in need of food.  For more, call (314) 729-9996
12/11/03 Redevelopment Opportunities for Women (ROW):  Since opening in 1978, ROW has been helping women who have been affected by homelessness, domestic violence, and poverty to gain education, work skills, and a sense of self-worth that comes from financial independence.   To find out more, call them at 314.588.8300.
12/12/03 Glen Ed Good Pantry:  Since 1980, Glen Ed Food Pantry has been serving the communities of Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Hamel, Worden, Carpenter, Moro, Dorsey, Livingston, Alhambra, Marine, St. Jacob, and Maryville, Illionois serving nearly 1,000 people each month.  For more, call (618) 656-7506.
12/15/03 Nurses for Newborns:  Since 1990, Nurses fo Newborns has helped infants get a healthy start in life and has grown to more than 30 nurses who make more than 14,000 home visits each year in Missouri, with the majority in St. Louis City and County.  For more visit their website by clicking here or call them at (314) 544-3433.
12/16/03 Kossuth Food Service:  For the past 20 years, Kossuth Food Service has served its north St. Louis neighborhood as a food pantry.  Over the years, they have expanded services to include a hot lunch program, drug and alcohol recovery asstance, and G.E.D. classes helping more than 150 familes each month.  For more about this agency in north St. Louis, please call them at (314) 652-4163.
12/17/03 Girls Inc.:  Since 1981, Girls Inc. has been a nurturing safe haven for at-risk youth in the St. Louis area -- offering after-school and summer programs for girls between the ages of 4 and 18.  For moe, please call them at (314) 385-8088.
12/18/03 Clayton Missionary BaptistClayton Missionary Baptist, has been serving the Hamilton Heights neighborhood in St. Louis City for two years.  They have been a welcome addition to the community and have been expanding ever since their opening.  Clayton Missionary Baptist currently operates a food pantry that serves more than 150 families each month.   and, when available, They also provide clothing to clients in need.  They report that their biggest challenges are finding enough volunteers to help run the pantry, and enough space to store their food.  with current plans to open a soup kitchen in 2004, the organization will need additional volunteers.  To find out how you can help Clayton Missionary Baptist improve the lives of those in need, please call them at (314) 383-0110.
