COVER STORY

Gift-Giving

During the holiday season, we tend to place more emphasis on the tradition of gift-giving. But, really, Americans are a people who give gifts throughout the year, whether it’s for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any number of other special occasions. As you look forward to the celebrations you’ll share in the coming year, we hope you’ll consider making your gifts a double blessing.

Here’s how:

The St. Louis Area Foodbank offers a tribute program through which you can make donations as gifts. These tributes allow you to honor your friends, families and colleagues, while at the same time, providing much-needed food assistance to the hungry in our community.

When you make a tribute donation of a suggested amount of $25, the Foodbank sends a personalized note to the recipient letting that person know that you’ve made a contribution in his or her honor. Not only will the recipient be pleased to receive such a thoughtful gift, but the donation you make also will have a positive impact on our community. It really is a gift you give twice… and the ripple effect of your contribution can be exponential!  For more information, please call (314) 423-6100, ext. 102 or e-mail Matt Dace at  mdace@stlfoodbank.org.

P.S. Tribute donations also can be tax-deductible. Consult your tax advisor.
